Oedipus & the River

I'm pretty dang excited for Fall to come and for all the trees to shed their pretty leaves.  But I'm not going to lie, I'm really going to miss this late summer weather.  I can just walk down to the river after class and read a book and be totally content. I just started reading the play, Oedipus the King for my theater class. Apparently, I am suppose to be already done with it but whatev, I'm a procrastinator.  I kinda feel like a total loser because I am the only person in my whole class who hasn't already read this particular play.  That is probably due to the fact that up until this year, I was kind of an arts hater. Instead, I only had love for science.  My wonderfully artsy husband has opened my eyes to art and I've pretty much fallen in love with everything artsy. I love this play so far and am totally looking forward to the rest of the plays we are going to be reading this semester.  Sorry, total book nerd moment.  Don't worry, I'll make sure to keep you all posted on which plays are awesome and which ones aren't so much.

Ditchers

Gabe and I were rebels today and ditched our Chemistry class.  Instead of listening to our boring teacher drone  through another lecture about cycloalkanes and phenols, we got some yummy food at Pizza Hut. We had initially gone there because Gabe had a craving for pizza, which is why most people go to Pizza Hut, right? But we ended up getting pasta and hot wings.  Who knew Pizza Hut actually had pretty decent pasta?

The Straight's Wedding

This past weekend I went to San Diego, which I talked about in my previous post, but I didn't say why.  My very best friend Heather got married. Heather is like the sister that I never had. We bicker like sisters but we always end up laughing in the end.   I was one of the bridesmaids, which was so awesome! Other than the fact that I look like a ten year old in my Bridesmaid dress. But that is not what is important, what is important is that Heather looked beautiful and definitely not like a ten year old.  It was such a fun wedding! Everything went smoothly for the most part except for a minor hiccup, where a groomsman almost passed out during the ceremony. ha. Yeah, that was pretty epic! Nonetheless, I'm am incredibly happy for Heather and Kevin. Kevin is Heather's new husband and an awesome guy. The only bummer was that Gabe wasn't able to come to San Diego with me.  He had to stay home and work.  He is pretty much my sugar daddy. ha

Long Way Home

Yesterday, I flew home to Boise from an intense but wonderful trip to San Diego.  One of my favorite women, Miss Alyssa Hunt, came to see me off.  She also brought her very sweet boyfriend, Jamie, who I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time yesterday. It was a very short visit but pretty awesome as well.  We also took that awesomely awkward picture above, isn't it great that I'm holding a random burrito? Ha After we said our long and very dramatic goodbyes, I hopped on the plane.  I'm not sure what I was thinking when I bought a plane ticket which had me transfer planes at 3 different airports in 5 hours.  Also, to add to my spectacular plane ride home, I was the lucky person who was placed next to the crazy lady. Before taking her seat next to me, she decided to spout out every curse word imaginable at the flight attendant. It caused our flight to be delayed 15 minutes and almost caused me to miss my connecting flight in San Francisco. Fantastic! Needless to say, I was very excited when I arrived home to an immaculately clean house and these darling faces.

Nasa Day

Nasa day at Boise State was extremely interesting and exclusive.  Do you see those awesome name tags Gabe and I are wearing? Yep, couldn't get in without one. ha  Unfortunately, Gabe and I were only able to attend one part of the whole day because of our school schedules. But pretty much what I got out of  the part we were able to attend, is that I am a total baby and need to stuck it up with me easy peasy Chemistry and Math classes. Because their are people who are taking ridiculously hard classes like Aerospace Engineering as well as being an intern for NASA.  Yeah, I don't even have a real job.  I'm a loser. ha

Career

Gabe and I are really hating our classes this semester, like so much that today I wanted to stab my eyeballs out in chemistry. Which has brought us to the conclusion that nursing just might not be the right career path for us.  We decided to do what any responsible student would do, pout for a few days and then make an appointment with the career advisor.  We both had our appointments today.  Gabe was out of his within 15 minutes because he pretty much already knows what he is going to switch to. I was the complete opposite. My appointment lasted 45 minutes and not just because I jabbered on forever.  But because I had so many different areas I was interested in. After deliberating the pro's and con's for each job I am leaning toward social work for two reasons, I have a lot of experience and because I have always wanted to help people in need.
There is a very good chance this will all change by next week. Oh the wonderfulness of being so indecisive.

Downtown Adventure

Yesterday Gabe and I could not for the life of us come up with something to do.  So, we decided to just wander around Downtown Boise aimlessly.  It proved to be quite an exciting adventure. There is something refreshing about not having a specific place to be or a time restraint.  While wandering around we found this awesome little park hidden between two large business buildings. We plopped our selves down in the park and just rambled on to each other about random little things that are happening in our lives. We decided that we have a pretty wonderful life, we just gotta remember to look for the good in it.

Hope everyone else's weekend was full of randomness as well!
