Love me some Burt

Do you ever think to yourself, "Is it really worth it?" For the past week, I have made about a billion phylogenetic trees and studied my booty off all night and day for my zoology tests this week, all with the result of being utterly perplexed at all the questions on the actually exam. It's probably the worst feeling ever!! okay well maybe not ever but it's up there. I came out of the test thinking to myself, "I pretty much just wasted about 48 hours of my life studying for a test that I probably failed." Anyways, enough with the poor me crap, and on to the positive and awesomeness from this week. I made a list.

List of the weeks Awesomeness events

1. I did learn one important thing after studying my brains out. The definition of the word Coprophagy- it is an animal that eats it's own feces. Yes, you might want to hold on to that little bit of knowledge that I just enlightened you with, it might come in handy one day. haha

2. I rediscovered the awesomeness that is Burt's Beeswax chapstick.

3. My Eastern Civ professor, who I already thought was pretty amazing, took his amazingness to another level. During his lecture on Friday, he totally quoted "The Princess Bride."

4. Words that start with A's.

5. The Harry Potter Books. I started rereading Harry Potter and the Order of The Phoenix this week because I want to reread the last three books before the 2nd half of the Deathly Hollows comes out. Yeah I'm a nerd, it's cool!

6. When Gabe and I went to Sonic, Gabe said it was okay if I got an Extra large Cherry Limeade all to myself! He always does!

7. I found out I really do like Nine Inch Nails. I absolutely fell in love with their song "The Greatest Love Story Ever Told". You owe it to yourself to listen to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLBKRQawfSE Caution this song does contain some graphic material and screaming. If you don't enjoy those two things, you might not actually owe it to yourself to listen to it. haha

8.
Fringe Fridays. This weeks Fringe was the Shiz, it totally made my "sitting at home all alone, drinking tea" Friday night!!

10. My Husband, who took out the recycling without me even asking!!!

I'm a Red Coat

Today is Easter and like the rest of the world we, Gabe and I, usually attend church. (even though this is a reoccurring thing on Sundays, Easter Sunday is special) But this Easter Sunday something came up and Gabe had to take the car to work, side note, we only have one car currently, so instead of me taking him like usual and then going to church I was stuck at home all day. Instead of learning about the amazing story of Jesus Christ's sacrifice for us, I sat at home studying about hominid evolution. Which is pretty much the opposite of going to church. Fortunately my Easter was saved when Gabe came home from work and we ate a traditional English Easter Dinner which I made. It was Delicious by the way, if I do say so myself . FYI I'm 40% English. This year I really pondered the meaning of Easter while I was sitting at home and not at church. And honestly it amazes me how blessed we really are to have a Heavenly Father who loves us so much that He would sacrifice His son for us to have the opportunity to repent of our sins. In addition to Heavenly Father's love, we are also exceedingly blessed to have a Brother that would suffer for all of our sins. I am just so thankful to have the atonement in my life!

On to a completely different subject. Yesterday, Old Navy had a Big Sale and thanks to Gabe and my parents who sent their very poor college students money for Easter I went out on a mission to find some great bargains. I am totally a bargain shopper. It totally gets my blood pumping to find great deals. Yes, I know I'm a total loser! haha But hey, it pays of, I got a pair of black corduroy Capris for $2.49, a navy blue lace dress for $11.00, Gabe a long sleeved button up for $6.50 and also a polo f0r $6 even. I was totally stoked, I even called my mom right after and told her all about it. haha Like I said I'm a total loser. After that I was totally worn out from the blood pumping and my exhilarating shopping trip. So Jimi and I curled up under a blanket and took a glorious 30 minute nap. This leads me to my next subject, which is that this weekend should be labeled as the weekend nap fest of 2011. I took 3 naps this weekend. 2 on Saturday, I must be getting old cuz that shopping trip really wore me out, then a nap today. All in all, I spent 5 hours of this weekend napping which I am not ashamed of because I believe that naps are totally underrated!! Well that was my weekend in a nut shell. Now its time for lots of library attendance, text book reading and a brain racking week to start. Just another wonderful week in the life of Kathleen Starr.

Hola

Apparently the new cool thing to do is have a blog and I tried to avoid being like the masses but today I finally broke down and conformed to the blog world. I decided to start a blog because I really wanted to start keeping a journal for my future children as well as myself to go back and read. In addtion to documenting my life. Now I am in no means a writer. I actually despise writing, so much that this semester I bribed my husband into writing all my papers for school in exchange for a PlayStation 3. haha With that said, please excuse my atrocious grammar. I digress, anyway back to the point of the blog. I have horrible handwriting, it is like a 7 year old boy. So to avoid my future children from thinking I'm a retard I decided to start a blog and avoid the embarrassment that is my hand writing.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way I guess it's time to introduce myself.
Hello, my name is Katie Starr! I am 23 (I know i'm freaking old). I am married to a wonderful man named Gabriel. I am currently in pursuit of a nursing degree in pediatrics and will probably be a student for the rest of my life cuz I feel like college never ends. My husband and I just recently moved away from my hometown of San Diego and I have yet to develop a social life here so I have too much spare time. In an effort to utilize my time i'm writing this blog in hopes that I can keep my spastic self entertained. haha By the way I crack myself up on a daily basis, just try and ignore it.
