Anniston's 2 months

Anniston at 2 months has been so much fun!! She has grown and changed so much this past month. Every time I think about her only being two months, my mind is always blown, because she is just such a huge part of our lives and family that its hard to think of a time when she wasn't here.

  • Now weighs 13 pounds 2 ounces. She has always been a good eater if you can't tell.
  • Love's being outside, and while she is outside, her favorite thing to do is look at all the big trees.  (She's a tree hugger, like her mom, thank goodness!)
  • Love's story time. I'm not sure she really cares about the actual story, but she definietly loves the pictures.  If it isn't a book with colorful pictures, she usually won't make it past the first page.
  • Makes sure everyone knows when she wants to be picked up or doesn't like something. She isn't shy about informing us when she has needs to be met.  She's definitely a girl that knows what she wants.
  • Still loves laying on a blanket on the floor and still hates tummy time.
  • Is all smiles in the morning time. (She's a morning person like her mama)
  • Is very talkative with her coos and AH's
  • Has perfected the skill of swatting things away.  She is especially accurate when her uncle Chris tries to pinch her cheeks.
  • Running water and her daddy's singing can always put this little one to sleep.
  • Has ridiculously fast growing finger nails, which she likes to rake over her face while she is sleeping.  The scratches she leaves hurt my heart to look at.
  • She had her 2 month shots Monday and cried, of course, but stopped after Gabe calmed her down and brought her over to the fishies in the fish tank at the doctors office.
  • We also found out that Anniston has colic.  But at least we now know that the fussiness has a time limit, so yay!!

Babies at the Zoo

A few weekends ago, Gabe and I, and some of our best friends, Heather and Kevin, decided it would be a good idea to take our two newborn babies to the zoo. It would've been a great idea if it wasn't ninety degrees outside, but it was. Gabe and Anniston spent some time hanging out with the giraffes, as usual. We only saw a few animals and spent the rest of the time either feeding the babies, changing the babies, or avoiding the heat. After seeing Little Logan pee everywhere, I was kind of grateful for a girl. Thank goodness Heather, Kevin and Logan are so cool, because despite everything, we still had a pretty good time.

La Jolla

Last Saturday, we decided to head down to the beach with some of our fellow married friends, Mike, Alexie, and their baby girl, Rylee.  Since we have moved back to San Diego, we've only been to the beach a couple of times, which honestly, is a travesty.  I love the beach, but I'm not really a 'swim at the beach' type of person. I like to go on walks, explore the tide pools, or have a nice picnic at the beach. My absolute favorite time to be at the beach is in the evening.  Most of the beach goers have gone home for the day, it starts to cool off as the sun goes down, and you can really feel the sea mist frizzing out your hair.  mmmm Perfect beach stroll recipe right there.  Anyways, I was a little worried about taking Anniston down to the beach during the day, because she is still so young and only allowed to be out in the sun for 10 minutes each day.  Luckily, Alexie brought an umbrella, because all I had was some sun screen (which apparently you arent suppose to put on babies until they are 6 months old...bad mommy moment for me) and a little hat to cover Anni's face. It was so nice though, because Alexie, Rylee, Anniston and I, just relaxed under the umbrella while the boys went surfing. I'm so glad we have friends that are also first time parents to talk to about all the crazy things that happen when you have a brand new baby. It's very comforting to know that we're not the only people going through this crazy, yet amazing experience.
