Wednesday, I flew out of Boise and it was snowing and 30 degrees. When I arrived in San Diego, it was sunny and 85. Holy moly, did that make me miss home!?
My cousins and I all flew in at about the same time, so after picking up the troops, we went and had a seafood lunch on the bay. Yet again, another big reminder of how much I miss home!
Thursday was my grandfathers funeral, the whole reason for me going to San Diego. It was very sad losing my Grandfather, but he had lived a long and happy life and had fought a good fight.
Now, my Grandfather had always been a very stylish man, so it goes without saying that he would leave in style as well.
Friday, all of the family, my friend, Alyssa and I, all headed over to the San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo just happens to be one of my all time favorite places so I always make sure to fit a trip in.
Many people probably know this already about me, especially since one of my favorite places in the world is the zoo, but I absolutely love animals! And as of late, I have been getting quite emotional about it.
Now this picture is of a harpy eagle, which is not a very common eagle. When I saw it, I actually cried. Yes, I shed tears over this animal. haha. Very pathetic, I know.
Chris takes his flying skills very seriously.
If anyone ever wondered which of my parents I look more like, this picture pretty much sums that answer up.
Yep, a polar bear can decapitate Chris in one bite. ha
Being in San Diego without my usual bed buddies, Gabe and Jimi, was quite lonely. I tried to get my parents dog, Jake, to be a substitute. He is just a tad bit bigger than Jimi.
Also, on my trip, I purchased my very first ever tube of lipstick. I know, very exciting.
When planning a trip to San Diego, I have two very important staple foods I have to have.
1. In-N-Out
2. Slurpee. Thanks again, Heather, for driving all around Santee to find a 7-11 so I could get my slurpee.
Heading back to Boise, which might as well be the Antarctic compared to San Diego.
Enjoy the 66* here today!
ReplyDeleteOh I did! Then it started snowing the next day and I died a little on the inside.
