What A Wonderful World

To Daddy's Little Girl,

I've been meaning to sit down and write this letter for you for a while now. For 29 weeks, you've been cozy inside of your mommy's belly. I know you have no idea what the world is like beyond those dark, squishy walls, but you're coming into a world filled with love for you. Your lips smushed against your moms belly on the ultrasound already tell me that you'll look just like me. I hope you have my dimples and your moms beautiful eyes and personality. I've been worrying a lot lately. About finding the perfect name for you and about my preparation for striving to be the perfect daddy. I wish I could say I will be a perfect daddy. But I won't. I'm not patient enough. And I worry. A lot. I think you will learn quickly that we all make mistakes, but it's whether we learn from those mistakes that determines the kind of people we are. Mommy and I have a name picked out for you. I really hope you like it as much as we do. But whatever your name turns out to be, you will be remembered for your shining personality. I sing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' and 'What A Wonderful World' to you every night and you always kick when you hear me sing. I get so excited to feel your little feet against your mommy's belly. The love I have for you already is incredible. Your mommy tries to keep me away from the baby stores, because every time I walk through those doors, the visit ends with me wanting to buy the whole store for you. I am trying to stick to the things you really need for now, but I can't help but to think of how cute you will look in every little dress and pair of shoes. I look forward to your mini fingers and toes. And your cute little dresses and shoes and the little bows in your hair. I look forward to playing ninja turtles (and baby dolls) with you. I look forward to sailing the seven seas with you on our very own pirate ship to look for buried treasure. And going back in time with you to see the land before, when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I look forward to exploring space with you in a magic school bus (and of course, Star Wars). You will not be that young lady that hasn't seen Star Wars! I look forward to finding the land where fairies, unicorns, and little ponies exist. And going on jungle safaris and underwater escapades with you. I look forward to all of the things that make you uniquely you and I hope I can be your superhero.

Love, Daddy
